ABSTRACT
Four Schlumberger vertical electrical soundings (VES) were carried out in Omuma, South Easthern Niger Delta, Nigeria. The vertical electrical sounding data were modeled using resist software into four layers. The first layer is the top soil while that of the other layers varied between sand, coarse grained sand and gravelly sand. The most common lithology is coarse grained sand. The result
from the interpretative geological section shows that freshwater is found at 53.4 m in VES 1 (Umujuloke), 27.9 m in VES 2 (Umueze), 46.9 m and below at VES 3 (Umuokpota Eberi), 24.0 m and below at VES 4 (Umuoyere). The towns with very high groundwater resource potentials are VES 3 (Umuokpota) and VES 1(Umujuloke) which have aquifer thickness of 45.2 m and 29.2m respectively.
