Human
Society exists for individual and group life. Societal rules are made by people
and the same rules guide the behavior of citizens. Situation in the society
warrant members to have value things as good or bad. Man’s efforts in any given
situation are geared towards survival. Enu and Esu (2011), noted that values
are basic beliefs and attitude in the society whether of individuals or groups
which are considered worthwhile and serve as guide to choices and behaviors in
our daily lives. Esu (2009), further Defines Values as ideas that guides or
qualify your personal conduct, interaction with others and involvement in your
carrier. Values help to inform one on how he or she can conduct once life in
meaningful way. Different school of
thought therefore consider values to mean trade, practices, acts, ideas,
beliefs, attitude and principles that a group a society acknowledge to be of
merit, worthwhile, clear, acceptable and right. Values are therefore deep
seated believes that influence peoples actions and behaviors. It is therefore essential
that every individual, group and indeed the entire nations must have core
values which serve as the driving engines for growth and development (NOA,
2009).
